Min. Experience: Entry Level
This position assists Construction Superintendent in all aspects of construction activity and volunteer management and is responsible for the organization and upkeep of construction warehouses, equipment, and trailers.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Construction
-
Performs all hands-on construction tasks as directed by the Construction Superintendent.

“Fixes” any construction task performed below acceptable standards by volunteers.

Assists in the supervision of all site preparation and layout.

Assists in the supervision of job sites on each designated workday and works to ensure construction is accomplished safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved permits and plans.

Assists in training volunteers and partner families on construction tasks and tool safety.

Assure that Habitat has the necessary tools for construction and that they are well maintained and ready to use each day.

Performs all homeowner warranty punch list items.

Keeps shop and trailers clean, organized, safe, and efficient.

Monitor day-to-day, site safety and ensure that Habitat Safety Standards are met.

Order Gift In Kind products through my.habitat for each home or project.
Volunteers and Partner Families

Assists in the training of volunteers.

Treats Partner Families and volunteers with respect and dignity. Strives to make their construction involvement meaningful.

Understands elements that contribute to successful volunteers and helps ensure that volunteers have a consistently positive, encouraging environment.

Basic construction knowledge and willingness to learn

Clear, concise, and positive communication skills

Ability to problem solve as situations and opportunities arise

Success adapting to rapidly changing conditions and unexpected shifts in priorities

Ability to lift 80lbs. Work will require climbing ladders, considerable amount of standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in uncomfortable and/or tiring positions

Ability to train, discipline and mentor in a positive and safety conscious manner
-
Must pass driving and background check

Must possess driver's license with reliable transportation
